Richmond Operatic Society

"We feel the shows are worth travelling to see, and we have never been disappointed."
Richmond Operatic Society (ROS) is an amateur musical theatre group based in Richmond, North Yorkshire. Our first full production was put on in 1923 and we're still going strong.

We do musicals, Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, pantomimes and a few concerts for good measure, mostly at The Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond, North Yorkshire.

We're back from our trip down the yellow brick road! The Wizard of Oz was a huge success, with near sell-out audiences every night. We all had a wonderful time and it was fantastic to discover just how much junior talent is coming through. The future of the Operatics is looking bright!

But there's no time to rest on our laurels, as rehearsals for Sweeney Todd are starting almost straight away. It's a challenging show, rarely done by amateurs, but the music is fantastic and we have a first-rate directorial team to lead us through. We hope to see you there!
